Happy Trails in Happy Valley

I recently decided to explore Happy Valley and go for a run after a day at the office.  To my surprise, there are walking trails all over with some great scenery!  I had no idea how many there were, along with some serious inclines.  And everyone I came across along the way were all so very friendly....so I guess Happy Valley really is "happy".  It's a great way to enjoy the neighborhood while getting a little exercise in as well.  Not to mention, STAIRS.  If you haven't experienced the torture along 152nd, you need to.  While these stairs look scary, they really aren't...once you reach the top, you feel like a million bucks and you can rest for a few to take in the breathtaking views.  Next time you feel like taking a nice stroll, take advantage of the abundant trails right in your own backyard!  Here's a link to map out your next adventure.....Happy Valley Walking Map.  Happy trails to you!!

Arbor Custom Homes at the 2011 Street of Dreams

I am so excited that Arbor is participating in this years 2011 Street of Dreams!  A small obsession of mine is high-end real estate....nothing like watching a little "Selling New York" or reading my favorite celebrity real estate blog The Real Estalker.  So any chance I can have an opportunity to check out some beautiful homes, I don't miss it!  Arbor's version of a french chateau features a beautifully crafted home with plenty of entertaining space (4721sf to be exact), appropriately named the Chatteau Marseille.  This home features old-world charm and high-end technology to create the perfect blend of pizazz and functionality.  Not to mention, the lighting fixtures are gorgeous, like a work of art....be sure to check out the lighting above the staircase and in the master bedroom!  Try to find the secret door, leading to a private room that could be the perfect game room for wii entertainment!!  And what about an outdoor fireplace, covered to enjoy year around (even when our Portland summers are nonexistent).

What's Happening This Weekend In Happy Valley?

Farmers Markets....My Favorite!!

I first checked out my local Hollywood Farmers Market last summer and boy, had I been missing out?!  I had no idea all the amazing fresh fruit and vegies there, along with delicious bakeries and food stands to snack at.  One local farm has a fresh peach stand...to DIE for and I make sure to pick some up every time I go.  It's a great chance to enjoy the summer weather and snack on some delicious treats.  Be sure to check out any of these local farmers markets soon, they will not disappoint!

Concerts in the Park - July 14th

How fun is this?!  Head over to the Happy Valley Park & Gazebo on Thursday, July 14th from 7-9pm for some festival style fun and listen to Texas Rock & Blues and Rich Layton and the Troublemakers.  With the summer weather finally here, it's the perfect time to grab your blankets, lawn chairs, and have a picnic while enjoying good friends and fun!  It's a great chance to get to know your neighbors, too.  And it's FREE....hope to see you there.
